What is the meaning of Dua e Qunoot?
The word Dua means supplication in Arabic and the word Qunoot means one who is obedient or one who stands. It has multiple semantic meanings, such as obedience, humility, and devotion.
What is the Importance of Dua e Qunoot?
As we mentioned in the above paragraph Dua Qanoot is recited in the Third Rakat of Witr of Esha prayer. Witr is recommended in Esha Prayer. In Sunni Belief, Esha prayer is not complete without offering wits.
How to perform (offer) Witr Prayer?
There are three Rakats in Witr. The first two Rakat’s are performed as normal prayers. In the last Rakat after reciting, Bismillah, Alaftiah, and One Surah (e.g Surah ikhlas) consecutively the reciters say “Takbeer” i.e Allah Hu Akbar, and then start reciting Dua e Qunoot.
What is the translation of Dua e Qunoot?
O, Allah! We beg help from You alone; ask forgiveness from You alone, and turn towards You and praise You for all the good things and are grateful to You and are not ungrateful to You and we part and break off with all those who are disobedient to you. O, Allah! You alone do we worship and pray exclusively to You and bow before You alone and we hasten eagerly towards You and we fear Your severe punishment and hope for Your Mercy as your severe punishment is sure to be meted out to the unbelievers.

اے اللہ ہم تجھ سے مدد مانگتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے بخشش چا ہتے ہیں۔ تجھ پر ایمان لا تے ہیں اور تجھ پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں۔ ہم تیری اچھی تعرف کر تے ہیں، تیرا شکر ادا کرتے ہیں اور تیری نا شکری نہیں کر تے، اور جو تیری نا فرما نی کرے اس سے مکمل طو ر پر علیحد گی اختیار کرتے ہیں۔ اے اللہ ہم تیری ہی عبا دت کرتے ہیں اور تیرے لییے ہی نما ز پڑھتے ، تجھے ہی سچدہ کر تے ہیں۔ تیری ہی طرف دوڑتے اور حا ضری دیتے ہیں۔ ہم تیر ی رحمت کے امیدوار ہیں اور تیرے عذاب سے ڈرتے ہیں۔ بے شک تیرا عذاب کا فروں کو ہی پہنجنے والا ہے۔
