Cave Hira (Ghare Hira)

Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was also going outside the Makkah city to worship Allah at Mount Jabal-e- Noor in the Cave of Hira, which is also known as “Ghare Hira”.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad stays in the Cave Hira for days and nights. Whenever the Holy Prophet return’s back to Makkah, he picks up some necessary things like Food, Water, Clothes, etc, and then Prophet PBUHM returns to Cave Hira.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) continued worship and returned to meet Hazrat Khadijah from time to time until the day the revelation came down to Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Day of Revelation

One Day Angel Gabriel (Jibrail (A.S)) appeared to Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said)

“The Angle Hazrat Jibrail took hold of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and squeezed him as much as he could bear.”

And then Hazrat Jibrail (A.S) said again:

IQRA (Read)

Hazrat Jibrail A.S

Then Prophet SAW replied:

“ I am not a reader.” The Angel Hazrat Jibrail (A.S) again seized the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: Read,

The Prophet said: “In the Name of Lord, who has created, has created man from something that clings. Read! And your lord is the Most Generous, Who has taught by the pen, has taught man that which he knew not.

Preaching of islam
Preaching of Islam

The Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teaching was not well received by most people. Most of the people of Makkah had become rich and the trade of polytheists and liquor was easy in Makkah.

Kuffare-Makkah worships more than one God which is known as Shirk in Islam and one of the major Sink in Islam.

The people of Makkah did not accept the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) message and called Muhammad SAW a liar (Na-uz-Billah). Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) message was clear;

Distribute your wealth among the poor peoples and don’t worship idols.

Hazrat Muhammad SAW

Thus, many people who accepted the message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were the lower classes, slaves, and women.

After converting to Islam, a few Muslims who were Muslims began to be persecuted in various ways by the polytheists of Makkah.

Thus, the Makkah polytheists kept talking about boycotting a few Muslims and annoying them. They announced in Makkah that he would not enter into trade with them and would end his consultation with them.

Migration to Madina:

When the orientals made it difficult for the new Muslims to stay in the Makkah and forced them to suffer in various ways and they used to Harm the Muslim’s Days and Nights.

When it became difficult for Muslims to live in Makkah then the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered the Muslims to Migrate to Madina.

The Kufaare-Makkah responded by confiscating the property of those Muslims who migrated with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

“Muhammad and his small community were driven from their homes, forced to live in separate quarters on the outskirts of town, and boycotted. Yet they preserved in their commitment to follow the guidance of God. They were instructed to suffer injustice with dignity.”

Al Quran

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Loyal friend Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A) then left Makkah.

The easterners of Makkah were not at all happy that the Muslims were living in Madinah.

They were seeking to destroy the few followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which led to a series of military battles step by step.

Battles and Treaties

After the treaties, there are some battles are performed between the Muslims and Non-Muslim.

After these battles, the Makkah began to see that these Muslims are becoming a more powerful force day by day so one thing understands about Muslims is that are not easy to be destroyed.

When the Mushriqin of Makkah realized that the Muslims could not be defeated, they decided to reconcile with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and some people tried to dissuade the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from engaging in talks with the Makkah Mushriqin.

Then the Non-Muslim efforts turned to diplomacy. Many Muslims are tried to dissuade the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from engaging in talks with the Makkah Peoples.

And then, Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) decided to make peace.

Conquest of Makkah:

Six years after the Migration to Madinah, the polytheistic peoples of Makkah in know about Muslims proven that Military force is not enough to destroy the Muslims.

To alleviate the situation, some of the people from Makkah used to come to make peace with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

These peoples know that the number of Muslims was increasing day by day. And this seems to be a great danger for them.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was away from Makkah for six-year.

After the peace, Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions wanted to visit the holy places of Makkah. But Kuffar-e- Makkah stopped them outside the Makkah.

They did not allow them to enter Makkah Tul Makara. The Place where Prophet SAW and His Companions were staying is known as Hudabiya.

Sulah Hudaibiya

Sulah Hudaibiya
Surah Hudaibiya

On the surface of a treaty, this agreement seemed to favor Makkah. Many Muslims didn’t understand the Prophet’s willingness to compromise. These are the main terms of the treaty;

  1. The Muslims would return to Madina that year without doing Umrah.
  2. The Quraish would allow the Muslims to perform the Umrah the next year as long as they didn’t stay in Makkah for Umrah for more than three days.
  3. To Perform the Umrah the Muslims would not bring any kind of weapons with them.
  4. That any Muslims living in Makkah would not go to Madinah with the others.
  5. Anyone Muslim living in Madinah could come back to Makkah without any difficulty.
  6. The tribe could join any of the two parties.
