Muhammad (SAW)

Muhammad SAW is the Last Prophet of Allah. The Prophet SAW appeared in Makkah and after a Few Years, He migrated to Madina. He became Prophet at the age of 40 years.

He preached Islam for 23 years and died at the age of 63 Years in Madina. He was buried in Madina.

Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) father’s name is Abdullah bin Al-Mutalib and Amina bint-e-Wahab is the Mother of Prophet SAW. His name is derived from Arabic words meaning” To Praise, and Glorify”.

The Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the one and only son of Abdullah and Amina. Hazrat Abdullah died before the Birth of Prophet SAW.

Muhammad (peace be upon him) was raised by his mother Hazrat Amina bint Wahab.
After the mother’s death Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was raised by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib.

Tribe of Quraish

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) belonged to a very respected family of Makkah named the Quresh tribe.

In Arabia when an early age child baby was raised in the village for good health and to learn pure Arabic.

In the early days, this is a tradition of Arab peoples. Some poor people from all over Makkah come to Makkah every year to take care of their young children.

Hazrat Halima, The Prophet’s SAW Mother keeps Makkah tradition and entrusted her son at an early age to Nurse named Halima Sadia. Halima Sadia belongs to Sa’ad ibn-Bakar Tribe.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) grew up outside Makkah and learn their pure traditional language (Arabic).

When did Hazrat Amina (R.A) die?

When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was five or six years of age his mother took him to Madina to meet their relatives.
On return from this journey, the mother of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) became ill and She died. She was buried in the Abwa village is placed on the Makkah-to-Madina road.

Who is Hazrat Abdul Mutalib R.A?

Hazrat Abdul Muttalib is the Grandfather of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW. After His Mother, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was raised by His GrandFather Abdul Mutalib and Abu Talib.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) grew at his Unable home and remained under Abu Talib’s protection for many years.

So, Allah Pak says in Quran about Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and khātim of the prophets,” that is, the last of them.”

In His teenage Muhammad (peace be upon him) was hardworking and kind. He worked as a shepherd, and camel caravan, and followed in the footsteps of his Elders.

Al-Amin

Prophet (peace be upon him) was working for his uncle and he gained experience in traveling and commercial trading.

The older merchants recognized Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) character and they all assigned the nickname Al-Amin to Prophet SAW, which means one you can trust.

At the early age of twenty, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) started as a merchant working for a woman named Khadijah.

Once upon a time, Khadijah sent Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with some goods for trade but Muhammad (peace be upon him) is making more profit than other traders.

Khadijah was anxious for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) he had fewer goods and more profit, there is something strange about this man.

Marriage Proposal

She was very soon attracted to this young man (Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him), Khadijah analyzed the man and then sent a marriage proposal to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Hazrat Khadija was fifteen years (15) elder than Muhammad (peace be upon him).

She was nearly forty years ago but the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was only twenty-five years of age.

After getting married to Hazrat Khadija the next years of Their Life were pleasant and prosperous.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had three sons and four daughters. All of His siblings were born to Hazrat Khadijah (R.A) bint Khuwaylid (R.A). Hazrat Ibrahim (R.A) was born to Hazrat Maria Al Qibtiyah (R.A).

Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said about His Wife:

“Allah (God) never gave me a better wife than Khadija. She believed in me at a time when other people denied me. She put all her wealth at my service when other people withheld theirs from me. And what’s more, Allah gave me children only through Khadija.”

((Before the first revelation of 610 (a.d), the Makkah was whole idolatry, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was annoyed by these activities.

Cave Hira (Ghare Hira)

Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was also going outside the Makkah city to worship Allah at Mount Jabal-e- Noor in the Cave of Hira, which is also known as “Ghare Hira”.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad stays in the Cave Hira for days and nights. Whenever the Holy Prophet return’s back to Makkah, he picks up some necessary things like Food, Water, Clothes, etc, and then Prophet PBUHM returns to Cave Hira.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) continued worship and returned to meet Hazrat Khadijah from time to time until the day the revelation came down to Muhammad (peace be upon him).

One Day Angel Gabriel (Jibrail (A.S)) appeared to Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said)

“The Angle Hazrat Jibrail took hold of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and squeezed him as much as he could bear.”

And then Hazrat Jibrail (A.S) said again:

Then Prophet SAW replied:

 “ I am not a reader.” The Angel Hazrat Jibrail (A.S) again seized the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: Read,

The Prophet said: “In the Name of Lord, who has created, has created man from something that clings. Read! And your lord is the Most Generous, Who has taught by the pen, has taught man that which he knew not.

Preaching of Islam:

Over time, The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) began to preach Islam to his tribe members, And then preach the Holy Islam throughout the Makkah.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teaching was not well received by most people. Most of the people of Makkah had become rich and the trade of polytheists and liquor was easy in Makkah.

Kuffare-Makkah worships more than one God which is known as Shirk in Islam and one of the major Sink in Islam.

The people of Makkah did not accept the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) message and called Muhammad SAW a liar (Na-uz-Billah). Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) message was clear;

Distribute your wealth among the poor peoples and don’t worship idols.

Thus, many people who accepted the message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were the lower classes, slaves, and women

After converting to Islam, a few Muslims who were Muslims began to be persecuted in various ways by the polytheists of Makkah.

Thus, the Makkah polytheists kept talking about boycotting a few Muslims and annoying them. They announced in Makkah that he would not enter into trade with them and would end his consultation with them.

Migration to Madina:

When the orientals made it difficult for the new Muslims to stay in the Makkah and forced them to suffer in various ways and they used to Harm the Muslim’s Days and Nights.

When it became difficult for Muslims to live in Makkah then the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered the Muslims to Migrate to Madina.

In 622, The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his followers left Makkah.

The Kufaare-Makkah responded by confiscating the property of those Muslims who migrated with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

“Muhammad and his small community were driven from their homes, forced to live in separate quarters on the outskirts of town, and boycotted. Yet they preserved in their commitment to follow the guidance of God. They were instructed to suffer injustice with dignity.”

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Loyal friend Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A) then left Makkah.

Returning of the Amanat’s

Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Left Hazrat Ali (R.A) in the Place of Him. Hazrat Ali’s R.A was a task to return the Bailment (Amanat).

It was the Characteristic of the Holy Prophet (SAW) that the people of Makkah used to give their Bailment to Muhammad.

Because Prophet SAW was the most Honest, Trustworthy Person in Makkah. He was known as “Al-Amin” and “Al-Sadiq”.

Battles and Treaties:

The easterners of Makkah were not at all happy that the Muslims were living in Madinah.

They were seeking to destroy the few followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which led to a series of military battles step by step.

After the treaties, there are some battles are performed between the Muslims and Non-Muslim.

After these battles, the Makkah began to see that these Muslims are becoming a more powerful force day by day so one thing understands about Muslims is that are not easy to be destroyed.

When the Mushriqin of Makkah realized that the Muslims could not be defeated, they decided to reconcile with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and some people tried to dissuade the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from engaging in talks with the Makkah Mushriqin.

Then the Non-Muslim efforts turned to diplomacy. Many Muslims are tried to dissuade the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from engaging in talks with the Makkah Peoples.

And then, Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) decided to make peace.

Conquest of Makkah:

Six years after the Migration to Madinah, the polytheistic peoples of Makkah in know about Muslims proven that Military force is not enough to destroy the Muslims.

To alleviate the situation, some of the people from Makkah used to come to make peace with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

These peoples know that the number of Muslims was increasing day by day. And this seems to be a great danger for them.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was away from Makkah for six-year.

After the peace, Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions wanted to visit the holy places of Makkah. But Kuffar-e- Makkah stopped them outside the Makkah.

They did not allow them to enter Makkah Tul Makara. The Place where Prophet SAW and His Companions were staying is known as Hudabiya.

After a series of diplomacy of meetings, the two sides negotiated the treaty of Hudaibiya. This Agreement is known as Sulah Hudaibiya.

On the surface of a treaty, this agreement seemed to favor Makkah. Many Muslims didn’t understand the Prophet’s willingness to compromise. These are the main terms of the treaty;

  1. The Muslims would return to Madina that year without doing Umrah.
  2. The Quraish would allow the Muslims to perform the Umrah the next year as long as they didn’t stay in Makkah for Umrah for more than three days.
  3. To Perform the Umrah the Muslims would not bring any kind of weapons with them.
  4. That any Muslims living in Makkah would not go to Madinah with the others.
  5. Anyone Muslim living in Madinah could come back to Makkah without any difficulty.
  6. The tribe could join any of the two parties.

Death of the Prophet:

After establishing Islam, the great religion of the world, and after establishing itself as true and trustworthy. Upon Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) return to Madina to his Wife’s home. He fell ill for many days.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed away due to a serious illness, on Monday 632 (A.D).

Allah Pak says in Quran:

“Whoso desires the reward of the world, We bestow on him thereof, and whosoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We bestow on him thereof We shall reward the thankful”. (Qur’an 3.144-145)
