Saudi Arabia reports that Ramadan 2022 will start on April 3, 2022 and conclude on May 12, 2021. A celebration of Eid al Fitr in 2022 is expected to be held on Tuesday, May 03, 2022.
As the moon will have to be sighted in order to determine the exact starting date of Ramadan 2021, this is merely a tentative date.
When Ramzan will start?
Muslim calendars follow the phases of the moon, also called the lunar cycle. Therefore, Ramadan falls approximately 10 days earlier each year in the Gregorian calendar.
In 2022, Ramadan will begin following the sighting of the moon over Mecca on Monday 2nd April. With Ramadan lasting for 30 days, it will end on Monday 2 May 2022. Eid al-Fitr shall begin on Tuesday 3 May 2021 or Wednesday 04 May 2022.
